Look over your notes and study guides that you got from me when we studied this
exciting history. REMEMBER: This war was the starting point for many key events in our US as well as world history!!
Think about it! Because of a shot that was fired
in the woods at Jumonville the French and Indian War started. Britain won, colonized the initial 13 colonies and needed to
pay for the war. They then started to tax the American colonists unmercifully to pay for the French and Indian War. The colonists
did not think that these taxes and other situations that the British were imposing on them were at all fair so they decided
to have a revolution! The French, because they were enemies of the British and lost the French and Indian War, decided to
help the colonists get free and were one of the first countries to recognize us as a country. We became the USA and today
we are the leading superpower in the world. There is obviously much, much more to this story, but this is pretty much how
it happened and how we got to where we are today. Kind of interesting isn't it?!?!?
