Students in Mr. Fike's class study the geography, climates, history and culture of people who live in Latin
America. Pinatas are a large part of celebrations in Latin American culture.....so it was only fitting that students got to
make their own pinatas in teams and got to break them in celebration!

| West Mifflin Middle School Social Studies Department sponsored a "mock presidential election" |
Since 2004 was a presidential election year, the Social Studies Department
not only taught students how presidential elections are conducted but held a "mock election" in which students had to register
themselves as voters and vote for a candidate in the voting booths! ..............................................
